About Us

Christian Women’s Job Corps of Gregg County encourages women to know Jesus, while equipping them with job and life skills in a supportive, Christ-centered environment. Although the name “Job Corps” highlights the employment aspect of our ministry, the mission of the CWJC encompasses far more than the professional growth of our participants. Our program can be divided into two major parts: To prepare women for the job market and to encourage them to know and follow Jesus in their everyday lives.

We firmly believe that living a godly life comes only from remaining in Jesus and being strengthened, lead and satisfied by His Word and Spirit. Therefore, our program is designed with Christ as the keystone.

Although we are still in the process of selecting our curriculum, please see the “Classes” tab for a list of our anticipated courses. Our program is not for college credit, but is designed to provide practical help for women in areas of employment preparation and healthy day-to-day living.

We also realize that uplifting relationships with other women are essential for the spiritual growth of our students. Therefore, Christian Women’s Job Corps will provide opportunities for women in our community to eat lunch with our participants throughout the semester. We hope this regular meal sharing will grow into supportive friendships between our students and volunteers. Graduates of our program will also receive a mentor to walk alongside of them after completing the CWJC semester. Our hope is that these relationships will become an important source of wisdom and support for each graduate.

Statement of Faith:

We believe in the Trinity—God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit—and the Bible as the Word of God. Salvation comes through grace by believing in Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, our Savior and Lord. Once saved, the Holy Spirit indwells, thereby instructing, guiding, and empowering the individual to follow the mandate of Jesus Christ in daily living.

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5
